GMAIL Problem in Germany. How can I change default URL for checking mails?

In Germany Google must not use Gmail because a service provider of postal services owns the trademark. Since a few days, YGG plugin is useless here, I see this page when I click on the error messages of YGG:

If you're traveling in Germany, you can access your mail at http://mail.google.com.
Oh, and we'd like to link the URL above, but we're not allowed to do that either. Bummer.

So how can I change the default link from YGG, i. e.
http://gmail.google.com/gmail?auth=............%40gmail.com to the right one:
http://mail.google.com/mail?auth=...................%40googlemail.com

Is that possible? It would be VERY useful, because I have over 40 Gmail accounts

Hey phunkateer,

I was confronted with the same problem here ~ but it works like a charm when you switch your account type from gmail to pop3 (right click on your gmail account symbol in the contact list, choose settings and go to the accounts tab). Choose: Account Type - POP3, Server Address - pop.googlemail.com, Server Port 995 ([b]NOT[/b] 110!) and Username = [i]username[/i]@googlemail.com. Actually i did not receive any email yet but the status is [i]connected[/i] and the checking goes without any error messages...

Thank you, that sounds like a great solution!

Nevertheless, I can't add a new account or modify an existing one, an error occurs saying "Falscher Parameter" ("wrong parameter", see screenshot beneath). That never happened before (although I must admit that I have not tried to modify anything in ages). Even uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin doesn't help, I deleted all the .ini files after uninstalling also so that I had a fresh install ...

What's wrong with the configuration?

[left]hmm.. actuhmm.. actually I am new to Trillian ~ I stayed with miranda so far but keeping her running got a little bit tiresome lately... Anyway, I have a fresh Trillian instalation (latest pro version). I also ran into a some problems setting up my mail program to pop3 my mails from gmail. So I had to change those three points below:[/left]

[left]1.) Use the SSL secure login via port 995 ( + secure authentication in case of the mail program)
2.) Use your full adress as username <username>@googlemail.com
3.) And activate your pop3 access @ googlemail (mine was deactivated after some time of not using any pop3 services!)[/left]

[left]Does your pop3 mail program work with your gmail accounts? I am sure you checked the three boxes beneath the "Check Interval" to activat the plugin...well yeah, you get an error message ~ so this shouldn´t be the problem Do you use any IP blacklists on your system? I ran into some trouble with Peer Guardian 2 ~ you have to put googlemail into your whitelist or allow http connections depending on your used blocklists .... ah yeah and there is always your firewall ~ but she is usually telling you when she is blocking something :-?[/left]

Thank you for your quick response. I could finally limit the cause for the error message.

Actually, it can't be a connection problem because i can't save changes/add an account, so the error happens [b]before [/b] the plugin is trying to connect to a server.

Now I found out that if I don't change the check intervall (5 minutes), I actually can save the settings and I can also check mails. But as soon as I change the intervall, the "OK" button is turning into grey so that I can't save changes. Very strange behaviour! Could you try to change the check interval to confirm a bug? Thank you.

EDIT: It wasn't worth the work, the plugin does not notify me if I get a new message using POP3. It confirms that it has successfully checked for mails, but if I send a test mail to one of my accounts, YGG is still telling me that I have 0 new mails. When I use Outlook for that same Google Mail Account, I can download perfectly the new mail. And now I see ... I can even put in a wrong password for my Google Account and YGG is still telling me that it has checked my account!

Bug confirmed!
Though I can change the check interval the check itself is not working! I did not get any email on my spam free gmail account since I installed Trillian ~ yeah, yeah.. friends are excessively overrated ~ so I didn´t notice this faux pas before... I just send a test mail and the gmail plugin did not notify me. I tried to type in a wrong password and the plugin still tells me that it could connect 

Ok, I ran out of wisdom here  - does anybody know a solution?

I just wonder where Xan is ... maybe he has no time to take care of his creation? Or has the demand for his wonderful plugin too heavily decreased to motivate him to continue developing the Gmail-plugin?
